Jo Birkby

I am married to David and have two children, Jack and Fran. I enjoy socialising with my friends, parties (especially dancing!),   ski-ing, painting and relaxing with a good book!  Although I'd attended church as a child and had a basic belief in God, I had never allowed that belief to impact my life. It was through the Baptism of my first child, Jack, that I started attending St Saviour's Church in 1996. As I began to become involved more and more in church life, I began to understand the significance of Jesus' life and death. Until that point, I hadn't understood how it was possible to have a personal relationship with God, the creator of our Universe!  As a church member, I have been privileged to help in creche; lead Sunday Club and later our teenage group, SPLAT. In 2004, I began my employment at the church, undertaking the role of Church Administrator and then in September 2008, following God's prompting, I began Messy Church at St Saviour's.  It was in the Summer of 2010 that I, and other members of the church, heard God speak to us about my new role as Children & Families Worker.  Because of the way God called me to faith, he has placed in me a passion and desire to see children and families come to know Jesus as their personal saviour and friend - it's a great bonus that I absolutely love the work that God has entrusted me to do and it's my prayer that I will always be led by Him.  You can contact Jo via e-mail .
